Day 52 Reflection — When the Word Begins to Change You
Something has felt different lately.
After 52 straight days of reading Scripture, praying, studying, and walking through this Bible-in-One-Year journey together, I’ve realized something important:
The Bible is not just a book we read.
It is a life that begins to read us.
At first, daily Scripture feels like discipline — showing up, staying consistent, learning, understanding. But somewhere along the way, something shifts. The words stop feeling distant. The stories stop feeling ancient. The lessons stop feeling theoretical.
You begin to notice change — not loud or dramatic, but steady and real.
Your thoughts slow down. Your reactions soften. Conviction comes quicker. Peace shows up where anxiety used to live.
And you realize: God hasn’t just been teaching you.
He has been forming you.
As a soldier, I understand repetition. In the military, drills shape instinct. You practice until responses become natural under pressure. Spiritually, daily Scripture creates the same kind of rhythm — a battle rhythm for the soul. Over time, God’s Word begins to guide your reflexes, your decisions, and even your perspective on life itself.
What once felt like an effort becomes a relationship.
What once felt like a study becomes communion.
Today marks Day 52 and also something deeply personal for our family — my oldest son, Tyler, turns 18. At the same time, our family has entered the beginning of Lent, a season of repentance, reflection, and drawing closer to Christ.
So today is a day of gratitude.
We are heading to church to worship together and celebrate Tyler’s birthday as a family. Because of that — and because Lent invites moments of intentional pause — I’m taking a short break today.
I will catch up and post all teaching videos on Sunday evening, and then we will begin a fresh new week together on Monday, renewed and refocused for the journey ahead.
Thank you for walking this path with me.
Remember this:
If you feel different after spending time in God’s Word… you’re not imagining it.
That’s what happens when we consistently place ourselves in the presence of Christ.
The Word doesn’t just inform us.
It transforms us.
See you all soon — and God willing, we continue forward together.
